Crafting
Crafting lets you improve the items you find. The closed alpha covers two actions: Salvage and the Inscription Bench.
The loop: break down what you do not need, bank what it was carrying, and spend that on the item you are building.
Salvage
Section titled “Salvage”Salvaging breaks an item down into:
- Ore - the crafting currency
- Echoes - a record of the item’s best eligible affix family, banked in your Echo Registry
Higher rarity and higher item level yield more Ore. A T5 affix yields a usable T4 Echo plus double Ore.
Salvage Junk
Section titled “Salvage Junk”From the Equipment screen, Salvage Junk previews every eligible unlocked item at or below your chosen rarity threshold. Drag a single bag item onto it to preview just that item.
You see the Ore and Echoes before confirming. Locked, equipped, non-equippable and set items are skipped.
The Echo Registry
Section titled “The Echo Registry”Your Echo Registry is the bank of affix families you have recovered.
Target-specific versions of a family share one row - Fire Damage salvaged from a weapon and from gloves builds the same stock. The Bench resolves whichever value was authored for the target you pick.
Three Echoes of one family and tier consolidate into one of the next tier up.
Registry stock runs T1-T4. T5 is drop-only.
Select a family to see its legal targets. With an item loaded, the Registry shows that target’s exact value and cost before you commit.
The Inscription Bench
Section titled “The Inscription Bench”The Inscription Bench applies stored Echoes to your items - either upgrading an existing affix family to a higher tier, or adding it if there is an open slot.
Each normal inscription costs Integrity, the item’s finite crafting budget (see Items & Affixes).
Roll Preservation
Section titled “Roll Preservation”When you upgrade an affix tier, your relative roll quality is preserved. A high T3 roll stays high at T4.
Quick Inscribe
Section titled “Quick Inscribe”For a fresh drop with empty affix slots, Quick Inscribe proposes compatible T1 Echo families for every open slot at zero Integrity and zero Ore cost.
- You see the complete resulting item before confirming
- You can change one suggestion, or switch to normal Inscription
- Ordering is stable: the same item and Registry state produce the same proposal
It is the “make this functional now, improve it later” option.
Coming in Phase 2
Section titled “Coming in Phase 2”| System | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Runic Infusion | A themed guaranteed affix plus a reroll |
| Final Touch | A safe, cheap finishing step |
| Brewing | Potion crafting |
